A group of wealthy city girls see a poor housemaid walking down the street carrying her Mistress’s laundry. They examine the basket and see some food hidden under the laundry. Knowing she is not allowed food outside the meagre rations of scraps that her Mistress allows her they start making her do humiliating things and threatening to call her Mistress and tell her all about her maid smuggling food. Poor housemaid begs them and does everything they say but after they are bored with humiliating her they still tell her Mistress. Housemaid walks away from the laughing cruel girls trembling in fear about the punishments that await her at home.
